The Downstairs Bar, better known as Matty's (after one of the owners) is mainly frequented by the local stateside residents and gay visitors who come back year after year. The crowd is older as most are retirees. It is a freindly place which occasionally will allow hustlers. It is part of the Condado Inn and has a limited number of hotel rooms with a modest rental price. Every afternoon from noon till six they have a "happy hour".

Ave. De Diego near Ponce de Leon... arround the corner from the Belles Artes Theater Complex.
Open everyday, nice very casual mix older/younger crowd,(%= 30/70) from around 6:00 A.M to around 1:00 A.M., as evenening advance ambiance gets better/ nice crusing place. Has pool tables. Mostly Spanish speaking, but many speak English.

Junior's Bar
San Juan
Condado St., stop 18, East of Ponce de Leon Ave.,
Small informal bar, a small dancing area. Gets very crowded on weekends after 12:00!A.M. Older/younger crowd:(%=60/40), Strippers (nice!!!!) and Drag Shows on Saturdays and Sundays. (a little tacky for my taste, but many people like it)

Stop 17, near Marshall's
50/50 crowd, nice refined ambiance, nice music, pool tables, gets very nice on weekends.

Atlantic Hotel (gay)
Vendig St., at El Condado Area.
Seaside bar, open everyday, 50/50 mixed anglo-latin crowd. Shots, tack tops, or bathing suits allowed. Gets very nice (and crowded) on Sundays afternoon after 5:00 P.M., gets nice on Fridays afternoon as well.
