The Pride Society of Warsaw, Poland was formed in 1998 by a small group of people, mostly experts, living and working in that city. The group serves as a networking and social organization for gay, lesbian, bi- and transsexual people from all nations and all walks of life while they are in Warsaw. Meetings are conducted in English, but proficiency in the English language is not needed. There are no dues. They meet one evening per month, usually at the home of a member. In addition, there are occasional outings to theaters, restaurants or recreational venues. Newcomers are encouraged to join anytime. The gay scene in Warsaw consists primarily of a few bars and clubs catering mostly to a student crowd. The members value the opportunity to meet kindred souls in a relaxed, supportive and smoke free environment.
