people are in their 70s, but more than a quarter of those up to age
85 reported having sex in the previous year. Of those who were active,
most said they did it two to three times a month or more. Of the 1,198
men and 815 women living with an intimate partner, only three men

I'm 64 - A new community initiative will address the needs of GLBT
seniors in Melbourne, Aus.
By Sian
Cook, MCV, 12/07/2007
While it's well known that Australia's aging population will
have a significant impact on the wider community in the coming years
(such as the financial impact caused by increased demands for health
care), much less is known about how the greying of the population
will affect the GLBT community. Even less is known about the needs
and experiences of gay and lesbian seniors themselves.

We're
all concerned about the loss of gay neighborhoods
By Jim Meko July 16, 2007, FogCityJournal.com
Last Fall, the Western SoMa Citizens Planning Task Force began
holding discussions on the subject of historic preservation. Rather
than focusing only on the preservation of building types unique to
the area, it became clear that SoMa was home to two particular communities
-- the Filipino and LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual and
Queer or Questioning) communities -- which have contributed enormously
to the character of the neighborhood over the last fifty years.

Younger
and Older: Out of Sight, Out of Touch
By Doug Sebesta, SF Bay Times, Published: July 5, 2007
Most older gay men that I know and work with say that they
don'‚t see many younger gay men around and have no idea where they
are, who they are and what they do. But many of these older men feel

By Amy Sylvestri, 7/5/07, ebPublishing.com
Despite their name, San Leandro, Lavender Seniors aren't a
group of gray-haired ladies who lunch or get together to have a knitting
circle. Rather, they are an activist group whose mission is to improve
the quality of life of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT)
people over the age of 55. Both a political group and social organization,
the Lavender Seniors were formed over a decade ago when a group of
gay seniors organized to lobby in local government for representation.
